Arbutus in Killarney

Arbutus can be seen in abundance near Muckross House and also at the Meeting of the Waters. The best time to see it in its glory is in September, October and early November each year. It is a very colourful plant and well worth a view while talking in the beautiful scenery in the Killarney National. Killarney has many beautiful walks, here we are going to recommend the Reenadinna Yew woods and the Mossy Woods walks. Two beautiful walks and idea in all weather and its the Mossy wood walk alone the Muckross Lake where you will see plenty of Arbutus growing.

Map of the Arbutus Walk …………..

We started the walk from the Dundag Carpark, to find this carpark drive into Muckross House and before you meet the bend in the road there is a quiet road down to the left. Here you can drive right down to the end where you will find this car park. You can also go from the Muckross house car park.
