A trip up Carrauntohil

The Vikings Return, we traveled with our Norwegian friends decided to give it a go. We took the route of Brother O'Shea's Gully and made it to the top. We descended by the Heavenly Gate and had to endure excess rain all day, fog, cold and overall difficult conditions. That said it was a great experience but we did learn to bring the right clothing in future, the wrong clothes wet is another liability when you are on the Kerry Mountains.

The Vikings have returned to visit our highest mountain on New years day 2007, This is my third large bottle of water, drank too much beer last night !

More Vikings in Kerry, enjoying festive exercise on Ireland's highest mountain, Dad looks up, oh no ! were going up there "!

Images taken New years Eve 2007 on a wet day on Carrauntuohil, we went up by O'Shea's Gully and down by the Heavenly Gate.

Tony, the first to reach the summit, he's the youngest and the quickest.

Our Viking friend was first to reach the summit on New Years Eve 2007
