Wild Nature Experiences Killarney with Con Moriarty
For hundreds of years, the grandeur of the mountains, lakes and woodlands of the Killarney Valley have attracted discerning travellers. The Lake Hotel has provided luxurious ‘base-camp’ facilities for most of this time, in-fact since 1820!
The overriding geographical features of our region of course are mountains and among the hundred of shapely peaks accessasable from here, one towers over all other, in stature and shape, the mighty Corrán Tuathail in the range known as the McGillycuddy Reeks.
Here routes of all grades, suitable to the mountain walker, scramble and technical climber can be found.
Throughout 2011, The Lake Hotel has partnered with renowned guide, Con Moriarty to offer discerning guests the opportunity to experience the wild nature of our place. Con is a well-known climber, naturalist and culturalist - and the foremost authority on the nature and history of the McGillycuddy Reeks.
Every weekend throughout the year, we are delighted to offer a special package involving a chance to climb Ireland’s highest peak with Con while also having the opportunity to sample from a handful of other carefully created experiences.
